Welcome to the Crazy Pig Family Friendly Minecraft Server.
Crazy Pig is a Minecraft Server network run by an international community of parents, with the aim of providing a safe and friendly environment suitable for players of all ages.
Crazy Pig was founded in March 2013 by "TheLecturer", who decided the only way to ensure an age-appropriate online Minecraft experience for his young son was to build and run one himself.
In July 2015, ownership was given to SullyTheUnusual until October 2016.
Crazy Pig is now owned by Millypanda & Tetech89, with in-game assistance from a team of adult staff who assist and monitor the in-game experience. The current staff roster is available on the About Staff menu.
Be courteous and respect others.
No sharing personal info.
No racism, sexism, homophobia or bullying.
No griefing, trolling or building of offensive objects.
No offensive or scary skins (e.g. Five Nights At Freddy's).
No cheating mods, no x-ray, no "AFK machines".
Don't block Nether Portals with walls, gates or doors.
Don't advertise other servers (including Minecraft Realms).
Obey the server staff at all times.
Language filters are in place which block a large selection of swearing and other inappropriate language. Offenders will receive a warning, and if they persist then they will be permanently removed from the server. This is an automated process and is active 24x7, regardless of whether there are any staff online or not.
However no automatic system is bullet proof, so staff players have the ability to silence and remove unwelcome guests. All staff are at least 18 years old, many are parents whose children also play on CrazyPig. You can read about the Staff here.
Sometimes the automatic system will trigger a "false positive" and ban an innocent player. If this happens to you, post a "ban appeal" and it will be reviewed.
Please be aware that all game chat (both public and private) is logged and archived, including your IP address. We don't use this for anything, or sell it to anyone, but it's there, just in case...
Systems to prevent "grief" (your buildings, items and animals being damaged or stolen) are available in all worlds. Players are encouraged to learn about these systems and use them to protect themselves. Staff are not there to be a "police force" to chase down griefers.
Crazy Pig is an "amateur" server, it is not a business. The admins and staff have day jobs (some have night jobs too) and families, and running the server is done in our spare time.
Also, the Minecraft program, plus the community-developed versions of multiplayer Minecraft, and all the plugins are often quite buggy, and they change frequently.
All this means sometimes things don't work the way we'd like them to. Sometimes things won't get fixed quickly. There are no guarantees of availability. There is no compensation of lost builds or items. Crazy Pig is offered "as is".
Crazy Pig is a "network" of Minecraft servers, known as a "BungeeCord" network. Although you only connect to one server address, there are in fact 6 Minecraft servers (currently) tied together. These are :-
LOBBY. Where everyone arrives, and where you can access all the other servers (or "worlds").
VALOUR. A survival mode world (normal mode).
INSANIA. A survival mode world ("extrahard" mode), running the ExtraHardMode plugin.
GAMES. A mini-games world.
PLOTS. A creative mode world where players are assigned one or more "plots" to build in.
As of June 2015, all these servers run on dedicated computer system, the use of which has been generously offered to Crazy Pig, free-of-charge, by staff member and system admin 'devocite'.
Access and Fees
Crazy Pig is not whitelisted, meaning anyone can join, without having to fill in application forms or hand over personal information.
All players must follow the rules at all times. Rule breakers will be banned. All ban appeals from players who deliberately broke the rules will be rejected. Not knowing the rules is not an acceptable excuse.
Keep your Minecraft account secure! We regularly get ban appeals stating "It wasn't me, my friend / brother / sister / cat / dog typed that while I was in the toilet!". This isn't our fault or problem - for the sake of the safety of other players, if you can't keep your account secure, then you're likely to get your account banned.
Running a Minecraft server costs real money - website rental, domain name rental, and server upgrades / maintenance. All players can play free-of-charge for as long as they like. However donations are gratefully received to help towards the running costs.
Crazy Pig's donations system is fully compliant with the Mojang Minecraft EULA (End User License Agreement), ensuring no players receive an unfair advantage over other players by donating.
