On first arrival Read the signs in the Lobby. Check the rules with /rules View other useful information with /info Enter a world by walking through a water portal.
Regions The worlds are divided into regions. Each region has a region post, which is a glowstone pillar. Region posts can be found every 400 blocks. Open regions have a name on their region post. New players will be assigned to the most recently opened region - this means there will be space to build, and resources to find, as soon as you join - no having to wander for miles and miles to find your first tree. Once the server detects that a region is getting a bit crowded, it will automatically open a new region. To leave the spawn lobby and teleport to your home region, type /homeregion /WhichRegion - Tells you which region you're in. /MoveIn - Sets your home region. /HomeRegion - Teleports you to your home region. /NewestRegion - Teleports you to the newest, most active region. /RandomRegion - Teleports you to a random region.
Protect Your Property It is very important to take steps to protect your buildings, land, animals and possessions from other players. This is very easy to do, by claiming land. There is a tutorial available in-game (on the MAIN server) which you can visit with /warp land Step 1. Your first claim. Get some wood. Make a chest. Find a nice spot and place the chest on the ground. A 9x9 block claim will be created around the chest. You can see the boundary marked with glowstone. This chest-claim will only happen with the first chest you place. Everything within this claim is now protected.
Step 2. More claiming. Get the claim tool, which is an IRON SHOVEL. On the MAIN server you can type /kit claim to get this. On EXTRAHARD, you have to make one. Right-click corners of an existing claim to re-size it. Or right-click opposite corners of a rectangle shape to make a new claim. Note - you need claim blocks to make a claim, which you gain automatically just by playing.
Step 3. Trusting others. You can trust other players within your claim, so they can build (and break!), and access your chests (or steal from you!). Use with caution - if you trust a player in your claim and you get griefed or robbed, then don't expect any help or sympathy. /AccessTrust <player> - gives permission to use buttons and levers. /ContainerTrust<player> - gives permission to use buttons and levers, open your containers (chests, furnaces) and use your crafting equipment. /Trust <player> - gives permission to use buttons and levers, open your containers (chests, furnaces) and use your crafting equipment, plus place / break blocks. /UnTrust <player> - remove trust.
Step 4. Other stuff. /AbandonClaim - Deletes the claim you're standing in. /TrustList - Lists the permissions of the claim you're standing in. Stick - right click on the ground with a stick to find out if it is claimed. YouTube guide - here
